7inch-a-day asked: Hey there, where did you see the Dicks in '06? I just lucked out big time, had been living in DC and went to spend the rest of the summer up in New England and my first night there they played in Boston. They still sounded so good.
I saw them in Brooklyn with Pissed Jeans. Flew in the night before, and flew out later that night. It was astounding… I was a pretty miserable point in my life, and pointing at Gary Floyd while singing along to “Fake Bands” and “Hate The Police” made me feel like a kid again.
It was the first time I had been to Brooklyn (my father grew up in Flatbush, but I was raised in upstate NY) so I called him when I got to his old neighborhood. He called me the next day and claimed that he had invented punk rock because he wore a tie to a Ramones concert.
