Steve Albini spiel’d this out regarding a project we took on involving the late John Grabski III; John was a kind, brave man. I’m honored I got to spend as much time as I did with him, and I’m honored that my band got to share the stage with him. Every hug was one that went through you. There was love in every movement, and there was bravery in every breath.
The last time I saw him, I gave him a huge hug and said “you’re coming back, and we’re finishing this.” The story isn’t over: John Grabski III stays with every person he encountered. I only hope I can be as strong as him someday.
